Loop 2.4.3 creates original music steeped in percussion
and electronics, described as a "refreshing combination of rigor, complexity,
and force" mixed with "emotionally rich expression" (George Grella, The Big
City). Founded by Thomas Kozumplik (also of indie-classical quartet Clogs) in
Brooklyn, NY, in 2004, Loop 2.4.3’s latest release (American Dreamland, 2012)
was described by Gramophone as “visceral and satisfying,” with “brand-new yet
iconic sounds that create a riveting aura, a genuine time warp.” Live, Loop
2.4.3 has been described as giving “energetic performances” (New York Times),
with “stunning improvisational sense” (Time Out Chicago).
Thomas Kozumplik (aka Loop 2.4.3) has appeared internationally as a soloist and
collaborator with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Adelaide Art Orchestra, Kronos
Quartet, Dafnis Prieto, Evan Ziporyn, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Shara Worden,
Sufjan Stevens, The Books, The National, Gyan Riley, Legacy Percussion
Orchestra, and more, at venues such as the Barbican (London), Carnegie Hall

reveries...it all sounds like part of a well-thought-out tradition. Only the
tradition has never existed until now." - NPR

ANCIENT / TRIBAL / FUTURIST - Loop 2.4.3's Time-Machine_music is a cathartic
journey that is both intensely personal, and socially connected, as is man’s
perspective of time. At home in listening rooms and concert halls, the kinetic
music also resonates in club settings, moving audiences to dance. The
instrumentation combines man's oldest instruments (percussion and voice) with
electronic sounds and time-based effects. Thomas Kozumplik - compositions,
electronic and acoustic drums/percussion, vocals, steel drum.
Lucio Menegon is a guitarist, composer and sonic artist.
His work spans several genres and often encompasses collaborative improvisation,
melodic and electronic composition, noise, weird pop, film soundtracks and
experimental rock. While he holds degree in economics, he is a largely
self-taught composer and musician, having mastered the electric guitar and bass
as well as gained proficiency on various acoustic stringed instruments, lapsteel
and drums.
His dynamic style is rooted in old blues, country and punk rock with extended
technique and forays into ambient textural spaces informing a fusion of
traditional song structure and modern improvisation. Careful and chaotic
manipulation of tone and timbre plays a dominant role in shaping an
ever-evolving sonic tapestry.
He has performed all over the globe and appears on over 50 releases including
work with Emily Hay, Ross Hammond, Danny Frankel, Seth Olinsky, Rob Cambre,
Richard Lainhart, Amy DeNio, Moe! Staiano, Edith Frost, the Renderers,
Prehistoric Horse, The Bodice Rippers, Ramona the Pest, Zebu, Joe Rut, Val Esway,
Gunnar Madsen, Laurie Amat, Jonathan Segel, John Shiurba, Nick Millevoi, Glenn
Branca and Rhys Chatham.
He has years of experience in audio engineering and production, maintains a
passion for high-end audio, has a sharp eye for photography and loves a good
story. He is based in New York City and spends a fair amount of time on the
road.
